Max Belasco
Alumni Relations Director
3rd Year
Major(s): Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics

An aspiring epidemiologist, Max hopes to work for a NGO and help create a future where people will not have to fear deadly diseases and pandemic outbreaks. This is all pending that he survives his major, of course. Originally a North Campus major, Max takes time to please both sides of his brain, feeling just as content curling up with a copy of The New Yorker as well as the New England Journal of Medicine. So far he has spent his time at UCLA volunteering for Bruin Democrats, frequenting music concerts, exploiting his older appearance to impersonate TA's at the Student Math Center, and serving last year as development coordinator for the vice president committee. In his free time, Max enjoys writing on his weblog, finding new niches on campus to study, attempting to play accordion drinking ridiculous amounts of coffee, and great conversations about politics, biology, and Iron Chef.

Role

The Alumni Relations director develops implements and oversees activities between alumni and students during the year. He or she promotes opportunities for interactions between alumni and Alumni Scholars, such as Alumni Career Panels and sports tailgates, which heightens awareness of the Alumni Association.
